Dhaka: The law ministry has opined that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has no legal opportunity to go abroad for medical treatment.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the remarks in response to a question from reporters at the Secretariat on Tuesday (December 28).
The home minister said the law ministry had given his opinion on allowing BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia to be taken abroad for medical treatment. We are studying it, we will take it if we need more advice. We need to talk more about it.
He said that as the law minister has written, there is no opportunity to take him abroad legally.
It may be mentioned here that Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital on November 13. On November 17, she was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. The medical board has recommended that Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom take one of the three countries for advanced treatment.
