Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the government's aim is to develop every district of the country. Awami League is working to improve people's lot.
She said these things in a speech given at the road side meeting in support of the boat symbol organized by the local Awami League at the government college grounds of Taraganj, Rangpur on Tuesday (December 26).
The Prime Minister said, 'Monga has been removed from the country because of continuous power. No longer a wooden plough, the machine also does both. Boat symbol has improved the standard of living of people. Give us another chance to serve you by voting for the boat symbol.
Sheikh Hasina said, 'No one will be landless, no one will be homeless in Bangladesh. When Awam League comes to power, the country developed. Awami League has arranged free books and stipend from primary to higher education.
Sheikh Hasina also said, "When I first assumed power in 1996, I provided agricultural loans to farmers without collateral. Arrangements have been made so that farmers can open bank accounts for just Tk. 10. Farmers have been given cards. Arrangements have been made to purchase fertilizers and seeds with subsidies.
Also electricity subsidy has been given for agriculture. Subsidies are being given in all areas for agricultural development. The Awami League government has also arranged for it.
Before this, Awami League's nominated candidate in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad(JS) election Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Duke (MP), a boatman from Rangpur’s Badarganj and Taraganj constituencies, spoke among others.
He said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the responsibility of Rangpur, now no matter what the MP candidate of any party says, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina herself is working for the development of Rangpur. She will turn Rangpur into a modern and developed district if she comes to power in the future. Also Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina is the daughter-in-law of Rangpur. Ever since she came to power, Rangpur has made a lot of progress compared to other districts across the country. The people of Rangpur are enjoying its success and expressed hope that if elected this time too, it will make more progress.
