Awami League will be in the campaign to ensure the victory of Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, the candidate of plough symbol in Rangpur-3 (Headquarters-Partial City) constituency. The leaders of Awami League and opposition Jatiya Party also held a meeting for this.
The meeting was held on Saturday (December 30) at 11:30 a.m. in the presence of Jatiya Party Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader at Sky View in Senpara of Rangpur city.
It is to be noted that in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad elections, the seat has been agreed between the Awami League and the Jatiya Party. Because of this, Awami League gave 26 seats to Jatiya Party. As part of this, Awami League nominated candidate Tushar Kanti Mandal withdrew his candidature for Rangpur-3 seat.
GM Quader came to Rangpur on Friday (December 29). JP Chairman invited Awami League leaders for tea this Saturday morning. Responding to that call, Rangpur Metropolitan Awami League leaders came to Sky View in the morning. There, the leaders of the two parties held an election strategy discussion to work for Plough. From that hour-long meeting, it was decided that Jatiya Party and Awami League will campaign for Plough together.
In this regard, General Secretary of Rangpur Metropolitan Jatiya Party SM Yasir said, Awami League will conduct an election campaign with us from today. Together we will do mass communication, campaigning and meetings for the plough. Plough will win with huge votes inshallah.
Meanwhile, in addition to Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader, Party Co-Chairman and Rangpur City Corporation Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa, chairman's advisor and former VP Alauddin Mia, metropolitan Awami League convener Dr. Delwar Hossain, Joint Convener Abul Kashem, District Jatiya Party Member Secretary Abdur Razzak, Metropolitan Jatiya Party General Secretary SM Yasir, Central Jatiya Party Cultural Secretary Ajmal Hossain Lebu and other Jatiya Party and Awami League leaders were present.
Apart from Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader (Plough) in Rangpur-3 constituency, Abdur Rahman Reju of Bangladesh Supreme Party (Ektara), Ekramul Haque of Bangladesh Congress (Green Coconut), Sahidul Islam of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Mashal), Shafiul Alam of National People's Party (Mango) and Transgender Anwara Islam Rani (Eagle) is contesting.
The total number of voters in this constituency is 4 lakh 94 thousand 768 consisting of Ward No. 9 to 33 of Rangpur Sadar and City Corporation. Among them 2 lakh 47 thousand 294 female voters and 2 lakh 47 thousand 472 male voters and there are two third gender voters.
