Prime Minister is going to Faridpur today after 7 years

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is going to Faridpur today to hold an election meeting seven years ahead of the upcoming 12th Jatiya Sangsad(JS) elections. She will address a public meeting at the Government Rajendra College ground around 3 pm. Party leaders in the district are excited about her arrival. All the preparations have already been completed including the venue.

Faridpur district Awami League president and Awami League nominated candidate of Faridpur-3 (Sadar) constituency Shamim Haque will preside over this meeting. Apart from this, Awami League nominated candidate of Faridpur-1 (Boalmari, Alfadanga and Madhukhali) Abdur Rahman, Awami League candidate of Faridpur-2 (Nagarkanda and Saltha) constituency Shahdab Akbar Chowdury and Awami League candidate of Faridpur-4 (Bhanga, Sadarpur and Charbhadrasan) constituency and Awami League Election Management Committee Co-Chairman Kazi Zafarullah will be present.

Amitabh Bose, joint general secretary of Faridpur district Awami League said, leader (Sheikh Hasina) is our people. Faridpur is her district. She will come to her district which is a great gain for us. We don't need to ask her for development. The leader herself knows well what Faridpur has to offer. We are working towards her victory.

He also said that on the occasion of the Prime Minister's public meeting, a total of 100,000 people are expected to gather on the ground along with 50,000 people on the roads and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, all levels of security arrangements have been made around the Prime Minister's visit.

Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) of Faridpur Abdullah bin Kalam said security has been beefed up in the town to ensure the Prime Minister's visit safe and hassle-free. Various intelligence agencies including police, detective police and patrol police are working. Police patrols have been increased in the town. Besides, security forces have been deployed in important places of the town. Along with the uniform, the law enforcement officers in white clothes are on duty.

Incidentally, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina last visited Faridpur town on March 29, 2017. That afternoon she gave a speech at the Government Rajendra College grounds.
