Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said these things in the election public meeting at Government Rajendra College ground in Faridpur on Tuesday (January 2) afternoon.
The Awami League president said, I am the daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, I do not bow down to anyone, nor will I.
Sheikh Hasina said, once Khaleda Zia gave a matriculation examination. Studied upto 8th standard but gave matriculation examination in some way. She Passed matriculation examination in only two subjects. One is Urdu and another is Arithmetic. Fail in everything except these marks and Urdu. I learned math well because I have to count money well because it is easy to make money from power. And why Urdu? Because Pakistan is always in her mind. Hamara payer Pakistan is what she remembers. That's why it has passed in both and not in any other. Khaleda Zia is talking, when she did not pass, then why other boys should and girls pass.
The Prime Minister said, I increased the literacy rate to 65.5 percent. Khaleda Zia brought it down to 45 percent again. In 2009, I did not venture again. Today the literacy rate is 76.8 percent. All boys and girls are going to school now. Girls are getting jobs as teachers everywhere. We have facilitated in all aspects because Bangladesh cannot be freed from poverty without an educated nation. And the Father of the Nation said, education is an investment, it is not a cost. We are working in education accordingly. Our goal is the development of the people of the country.
Awami League president said, we have to build ourselves as a developing country now. Who do you need to build this country? If who is in power, will this country become a developing country? Only boat symbol, if boat symbol gets votes, only boat symbol gets votes I can come to power. We can build Bangladesh as a developing country. Bangladesh will never be left behind. There are conspiracies. Those who did not support our liberation war. Their plot has not stopped yet.
She said the conspiracy is more because they know we bow down to no one. There is a problem in our country. We have created many opportunities to do business. Many have been pulled from the gutter so to speak. I gave them the opportunity to make money, grow business and create media. Now they spread the money. They think money can buy everything. I know very well how these rich people spread their money. They spread the money. Because the more the money spreads, the more it will go into the hands of the people.
She also said, I want to say one thing, people cannot be bought with money. No one can buy the people of Faridpur with money. This soil is the soil of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib. This soil is dry soil. So the only means boat. This boat symbol will give you the solution. Everyone should remember that.
