The newly elected executive chairman of the Jatiya Party (Roushan) Kazi Feroz Rashid said that the Jatiya Party is no longer a party of king and queen. Now the party will not be run by anyone's single will, the party will run based on the opinion of the majority.
He made this comment in his speech after the constitutional amendment at the 10th National Conference of Jatiya Party(JP) at IEB premises on Saturday (March 9). The council was officially started at 12 noon by hoisting the national and party flags. Leaders of various political parties gave congratulatory speeches.
On January 28, Roushan Ershad dismissed Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader and Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu from their posts. At the same time, she announced herself as the chairman of JP. Then on March 9, she convened the Council of the JP. The council was held in continuation of that.
Firoz Rashid referred to the constitutional amendment as historical and said that history has been created today. The new constitution will be considered as a historical document. Those of you who approved also became a part of history.
Regarding the council, he said, this council is not to break the party, but to build unity. Everyone will be politicized. You will have the right to say yes or no. The party will run as the activists want. Party will be organized across the country.
Firoz Rashid criticized GM Quader and said that politics cannot be done suddenly. We have been in politics for a long time, serving six terms in jail. You said first don't choose. Then he said that if less than 100 seats are given, do not make any compromise. But he took the wife's seat and went to the feet of Awami League, a party which cannot run like this.
He said, winning with a transgender (Rangpur-3 seat) is making a lot of leaps. If you have the courage to vote in 5 constituencies of Rangpur like Hussain Muhammad Ershad, then I will understand your popularity. People do not look good when brokering.
In the conference, Roushan Ershad was elected as party chairman, Kazi Feroz Rashid as executive chairman, Syed Abu Hossain Babla as senior co-chairman and Kazi Mamunur Rashid as general secretary.
Saidur Rahman Tepa, Shafiqul Islam Sentu, Rahgir Al Mahi Saad Ershad, Golam Sarwar Milan, Sunil Shubha roy have been made co-chairmen.
