Awami League to arrange gatherings all over the country on Sunday

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has announced the program of gatherings in all wards of Dhaka City and in all districts and cities of Bangladesh tomorrow Sunday (August 4).

He announced this program in an emergency press conference called at the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi of the capital on Saturday (August 3).

He also announced a mourning procession from Engineers Institution to Bangabandhu Bhavan on Monday (5th).

Obaidul Quader said, on the one hand, because of the inclement weather, on the other hand, we do not want to get involved in any kind of confrontational situation, because of which we are avoiding such programs. We had scheduled programs yesterday and today as well.

He said, we are now celebrating the birth anniversary of Bangabandhu's son Sheikh Kamal on August 5... Although the pain of death, the birthday is overshadowed by mourning. We have rescheduled for tomorrow.

Informing about the new program, the Awami League General Secretary said, on Sunday, gatherings will be held in all wards of Dhaka City and in all districts and cities of Bangladesh. And on the 5th we will hold our (postponed mourning march) program from the Engineers Institution to Bangabandhu Bhavan.

Referring to the Awami League government elected by the people's vote, he said, the Awami League government has brought back the rights of the people of this country to vote and rice under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.

Commenting that BNP-Jamaat is trying to overthrow the democratically elected government today, Obaidul Quader said that they have repeatedly been rejected by the people and have failed politically. So, whenever it sees any movement, the government is ready to take it down. The government is dealing with all the provocations and anarchy with patience and restraint.

Awami League Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Organizing Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, Mirza Azam, SM Kamal Hossain, Afzal Hossain, Office Secretary Biplab Barua, Liberation War Affairs Secretary Advocate Mrinal Kanti Das, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Aminul Islam, Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary Delwar Hossain and others were present in the press conference.
