Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Awami League president, has worked hard for the development of Bangladesh since she was in power for 16 consecutive years. But as some people stood against it, Mom (Sheikh Hasina) was disappointed that she would not return to politics.
Sheikh Hasina's son Sajib Wazed Joy said this in an interview given to the British media BBC on Monday (August 5).
Sajib Wazed, an unpaid information and communication technology adviser to Sheikh Hasina, told the BBC World Service that her mother had been thinking of resigning since yesterday (Sunday). She later left the country after family insisted.
She said, mother (Sheikh Hasina) has toured Bangladesh. When she took power it was a failed state, a poor country. During her 16 years in power, she made the country an emerging country in Asia. Mom is very disappointed.
Denying the allegation of student murder, Joy said, "You have seen the scene of policemen being beaten to death." What do you expect the police to do when people are being beaten to death?
