Awami League is preparing to pay homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on August 15, said the party's joint general secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif.
Mahbub Ul Alam Hanif told BBC Bangla on Monday (August 12).
After Awami League president Sheikh Hasina resigned on August 5 and left the country, many of the top leaders of Awami League went into hiding.
This Awami League leader also said that the new government has been requested to ensure the party's security around the August 15 program.
He said that the party has sent a letter to the Home Advisor for the security of Dhanmondi 32 area. We hope that permission will be granted.
Earlier, in a video message on his verified Facebook page on Sunday night, Sheikh Hasina's son Sajib Wazed Joy requested the party leaders and activists to pay tribute on August 15 to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 32 Dhanmondi on the death anniversary.
