Former Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumdar has been appointed as the Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus of the interim government.
On Monday (August 12), the Cabinet Division issued a notification appointing him.
Ali Imam Majumder joined the service as a member of the administration cadre of Bangladesh Civil Service in 1977. During his service life, he performed various duties in upazila and district including Assistant Commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Additional District Magistrate at various levels of administration.
He served as Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office and member of the Planning Commission. He served as Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Sonali Bank Limited.
He has been serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) since 2016 and as Secretary General since 2020.
