Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that Awami League is conspiring in Delhi to falsify the victory of Bangladesh. Fascism is gone, he said, but mega-fascism may be imported. It does not seem that Sheikh Hasina can get the love of the people of India by taking refuge in India after being expelled from the people of Bangladesh.
On the 25th death anniversary of Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder, former Secretary General of BNP, Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder Memorial Society organized a discussion meeting at Abdus Salam Hall at Jatiya Press Club on Monday (August 19). Mirza Fakhrul made these comments in the speech as the chief guest.
BNP Secretary General said, those who are involved in various misdeeds to dilute the Victory, they are not patriots, they are traitors, they should be stopped. We are independent but not stable yet. Democracy was not established. We must help the Interim Government at all costs. A new chapter must be embraced. He called upon the youth to unite for realizing new freedom and dreams.
The Secretary General termed the previous government as a monster and said that BNP was fighting this struggle for last 15 years. The students gave their blood to remove the monster, for which the country became independent. Begum Zia was released. He expressed the hope of forming a democratic government through free and fair elections through the interim government through the students' movement. He urged the party leaders and workers to give full cooperation to the interim government.
Mirza Fakhrul prayed for the soul of former Secretary General Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder and said that Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder was a wise and competent leader. The team has progressed a lot under his leadership. He worked for the establishment of democracy and for the people.
BNP Standing Committee member Babu Gayeshwar Chandra Roy presided over the discussion meeting and BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, former MP Nilufar Chowdhury Moni, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and many others also spoke on the occasion.
