Leader of Opposition in the parliament Rowshan Ershad and some presidium members of Jatiya Party ( JP -Ershad) have given statement that GM Kader is not the chairman of Jatiya party. In a statement sent in the night of July 22 they made this claim.
It has been said in the statement that according to the constitution of the party Kader has been made chairman without taking the opinion of the presidium members of the party. He is supposed to perform as the acting chairman of the party till the election of the chairman.
Party presidium member Fakhrul Imam has confirmed the matter to barta24.com.
In the statement, the senior leaders told GM Kader is now acting chairman. He will act as acting chairman till it is decided in the party meeting. But without making discussion taking such sudden decision is purely rashness. Because no decision was taken in the party forum to make Kader as the chairman. Pro- Rowshan leaders have called the party activists to be restrained to announce GM Kader as chairman.
On the other hand after the press conference of last Thursday (July 18) GM Kader was seen seating in the chair of Ershad at Banani party office. At that time he held close door meetings with the presidium members and Jatiya Sangsad members.
The in fight of Jatiya party is very old. On last January 16 HM Ershad gave the responsibility of party chairman to GM Kader in his absence. In another organizational instruction of March 22 he himself cancelled the instruction of January 16.
Next the leaders of Rangpur started lobbying for reinstatement of GM Kader. Being compelled HM Ershad reinstated GM Kader as chairman. After the new instruction GM Kader has been performing the responsibility of the chairman in absence of Ershad.
In the letter of March 22 it was told by Ershad that I am cancelling my last decision.
After the announcement of removing GM Kader from the posts of acting chairman and co-chairman he was also removed from the post of deputy leader of the Opposition of Jatiya Sangsad. Rowshan Ershad was announced as the leader of the Opposition in the House.
Though there is no post in the party constitution, GM Kader was made party co-chairman in 2016 by Ershad. Next due to pressure of the pro-Rowshan activists HM Ershad made Rowshan as the senior co-chairman.
