Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit of the central bank has asked for information about the bank accounts of Omar Faruk Chowdhury, Chairman of Jubo League, the youth front of the ruling Awami League.
He said BFIU on Thursday sent separate letters to different commercial banks to know Omar Faruk's bank account information within three working days.
BFIU chief Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.
The central bank earlier froze the bank accounts of Jubo League leaders GK Shamim and Khalid Mahmud Bhuiyan after law enforcers arrested them for their involvement in illegal casino operation.
