BNP vice-chairman Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has been arrested on Saturday (October 12) night.
Head of the party's chairperson Khaleda Zia's security team Colonel (retd) Ishak was also arrested.
BNP's Senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said Police arrested BNP Vice Chairman Hafiz Uddin Ahmed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area after returning from Singapore.
Assistant Commissioner Mustaq Ahmed of Mirpur division of Police said Rab-4 arrested Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed
and Colonel (retd) Ishak under Digital Security Act and handed the over to Pallabi Police.
Sub-Inspector Mirazul Islam of Pallabi Police Station said Hafiz Uddin Ahmed was in the police station. Details would be informed later.
BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi condemned the arrest and demanded his immediate release.
