Swechchasebak League vice-president Nirmal Guha has been made convener of the preparatory committee for the upcoming national conference to be held on November 16. Joint secretary of the organization Gazi Mejbahul Hossain Sachchu has been made member --secretary of the preparatory committee. The convener and member-secretary will remain in charge till the national conference.
On Friday (Oct.25) in an extended meeting of Dhaka City South Awami Laegue held at the central office of Awami League, Bangabandhu Avenue, secretary of the party Obaidul Kader informed this.
Earlier due to involvement of Molla Abu Kawsar in casino scandal he was removed from the post of president on Wednesday (Oct.23) followed by Pankaj Devnath who was made OSD on Thursday and was directed to abstain from conference activities. These led to fill up the posts of both president and secretary in view of the ensuing conference.
Because of the vacancy at two top posts which were filled up by Nirmal and Sachchu.
The national conference will be held on November 16 while the conference of North and South chapter of city will be held on November 11 and 12 respectively.
