Family members want to take jailed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment, alleging she is not getting any treatment in hospital under jail authorities.
Her sister Selima Islam talked to journalists after meeting Khaleda Zia at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Friday (October 25) afternoon. Six members of the family met Khaleda Zia at cabin-612 of the hospital around 3:30pm.
Selima Islam told journalists that the health condition of Khaleda Zia has further deteriorated. Seilma said, ‘She can't get up or sit down. She can't eat by herself. She feels difficulty even lying in the bed.’
‘She needs to be taken abroad,’ she said. ‘We want to take her abroad.’
Asked whether Khaleda Zia herself said anything, Selima said ‘she didn't say anything about this. It is us who want to take her abroad, because here is no treatment for her, rather her condition is deteriorating day by day.’
Selima said they would take Khaleda Zia abroad whenever she gets bail.
