Abu Sufian Chanchal, Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit general secretary of Bangladesh Chattra Laeague (BCL) resigned from his post. Though he submitted his resignation paper to BCL central office secretary on Tuesday, but it was disclosed on Thursday(Nov.7).
The central office secretary Ahsan Habib admitted the receiving of the resignation letter but he did not inform the reason of his resignation.
Ahsan Habib told the media that I just received the resignation on last Tuesday but I did not go through the contents. I handed over it to the president and secretary of the central committee. I assume that he resigned on personal grounds. After the decision about the resignation, it will be informed through press release.
To know the matter Chnachal was contacted over his cell phone repeatedly but could not be reached.
JU unit BCL president Jewel Rana told barta24.com that I have also heard it but nothing was told from the center. If any decision comes it will be informed.
Chanchal has been staying out side the campus since last August. He did not take part in any BCL program since then.
Earlier when the news of distribution of Taka one crore among the BCL leaders by VC Prof. Farzana Islam was disclosed in the media on August 23, it was learnt that Chanchal had got Taka 25 lakh as his share.
In 2016-17 Jewel Rana and Abu Sufian Chanchal became president and secretary respectively of BCL, JU unit for one year.
The duration of the committee expired two years back. On the other hand the BCL, JU unit even could not form the hall committees for three years.
