Newly elected Jubo League leaders met PM Sheikh Hasina

Newly-elected Awami Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash and General Secretary (GS) Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil called on called on the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday evening (Nov.24) at Gonobhavan.

The two top Jubo League leaders went to the residence of the Prime Minister met the Prime Minister greeted her by presenting a flower bouquet.

During the time, Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League wished their success in running the organization.

AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader and ex-Jubo League general secretary Harun-or-Rashid were present on the occasion.

Parash and Nikhil have been made new chairman and general secretary respectively of Jubo League, youth wing of Awami League, for the next three years.

Parash, the eldest son of Jubo League founder chairman Sheikh Fazlul Huq Moni, was elected unopposed during the 7th national congress of Jubo League held at the historic Suhrawardi Udyan in the capital yesterday. Sheikh Moni was also the nephew of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Sheikh Moni was assassinated along with Bangabandhu on the fateful night of August 15, 1975. Parash was then only four year old while his younger brother Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapassh MP was only 2 year old. Their mother Arzoo Moni, daughter of the then Water Resources Minister Abdur Rob Serniabat was the maternal grand -father of Parash and Tapash was also killed in that night.
