Reserve position in the country is strengthening. At the beginning of this month, the reserve amount was 19 billion dollars, now it has increased by more than 2 billion dollars to 21.44 billion dollars. Mainly due to increase in loans and remittance flows from various financial institutions including International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), the country's foreign exchange savings or reserves have increased.

According to the data of Bangladesh Bank, the gross reserve as of December 27 is 26.82 billion dollars. But as per International Monetary Fund terms and conditions BPM-6 manual gross reserve is 21.44 billion. A month ago on November 29, gross reserves were 25.02 billion dollars and according to the BPM-6 manual was 19.40 billion dollars. Accordingly, the reserve increased by 2.4 billion dollars in one month.
