Remittance flow is increasing on the occasion of Eid

Remittance flow is increasing in the country on the occasion of Eid. In the first 7 days of this month of June, remittances reached 726.2 lakh US dollars. Average daily remittances to the country are 10 crore 37 lakh US dollars.

This information is known from the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (June 9).

According to the report, in the first 7 days of the current month of June, remittances to the country reached 72 crore 62 lakh 90 thousand US dollars. And in the first 7 days of last May, April, March, February and January, the remittances to the country were 56.98 lakh, 51.17 lakh, 44.87 lakh, 49.14 lakh and 53.41 lakh US dollars respectively. Accordingly, remittance flow has increased in this month.

Migrant workers of the country usually send more money ahead of religious festivals. Therefore, the people concerned think that the flow of remittances has increased in view of Eid al-Azha.

Meanwhile, in the first week of June, 172,248,000 US dollars came through state-owned banks. Besides, 1 crore 90 thousand dollars have come through specialized banks, 71 crore 54 lakh 13 thousand dollars through private banks and 24 lakh 20 thousand dollars through foreign sector banks.

Before this, the highest remittance of 225 crore 38 lakh 80 thousand US dollars of the current financial year came to the country last May. And in April, March, February and January remittances to the country were 204 crore 30 lakh 60 thousand, 199 crore 68 lakh 50 thousand, 216 crore 60 lakh and 210 crore 9 lakh 50 thousand dollars.
