Popular photographer Mahfuzur Rahman passes away

Popular cinematographer Mahfuzur khan, who photographed Ananda Asru, Hazar Bachar Dhorey, Sraban Megher Din, Ghetuputra Kamala, Aguner Parashmoni has breathed his last on Thursday night (12.26 hours) while he was under treatment at capital’s United Hospital (Innah Lillah Wainah Ilaihi Raziun). He was 70.

Duty manager Of United Hospital Sanaul confirmed the death of Mahfuzur Rahmna to barta24.com. Earlier on last November 25 he was admitted to Green Life Hospital at 10 night with serious sickness. He had been suffering from diabetes and lung disease for a long time.

Mahfuzur Rahman won the National Film awards for nine times for film photography, Bachsas awards for eight times and in special department Meril – Prothom Alo for once.

Mahfuzur Rahman was the disciple of famous cinematographer Abdul Latif Bacchu. Under him Mahfuz in 1970 worked in Darpa Churna and in 1971 worked in Kacher Shwraga films. As the chief cameraman his first assignment was Kancher Shwarga directed by Abul Bashar in 1972.
