Nobel Peace Prize 2020 for WFP
The 2020 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) for its efforts to combat hunger.
The WFP had acted "as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict," said the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
The prize is worth 10m Swedish krona (£864,200; $1.1m).
The 101st winner of the prize was announced at the Norwegian Nobel Institute in Oslo.
