Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah commented that the conflict with Israel has now entered a 'new phase'. Israel must wait for the inevitable response, he said.

Nasrallah said these words during a speech to supporters who gathered at the funeral of Fuad Shokar, a senior commander of Hezbollah, who was killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

Joining supporters via video link from a secret location on Thursday (August 1), he said the conflict with Israel had entered a "new phase". The enemy must wait for the 'inevitable reaction' because they have crossed the line.

He also said that Hezbollah is considering a realistic response to the attack rather than a symbolic one. He said, whether the regional conflict will start based on the current situation depends on how Israel will retaliate in response to Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was preparing for retaliatory strikes by Iran and its allies.

He also said that Israel is ready for any situation. Israel is preparing both defensively and offensively. We will respond very strongly to any aggression against us from any place.

According to the Israeli military, Fuad Shokar was behind the rocket attack that killed 12 teenagers on a soccer field in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights last Saturday. However, Hezbollah has denied involvement in the incident. But they initially claimed to have attacked a nearby military base.
