‘Coronavirus is still very powerful’– WHO
‘The coronavirus will not weaken soon, it is still strong,’ said the World Health Organization (WHO).
Michael Ryan, Emergency Director of WHO, made the remarks at a virtual press briefing on Monday (June 1).
Recently, Alberto Jangrillo, head of San Rafael Hospital in Milan, Italy, claimed that ‘the coronavirus had weakened. Clinically, the virus is no longer in Italy’.
‘It's not like that at all,’ said Michael Ryan. He may have been wrong. As a result of much more testing, the number of victims may have started to decrease. This does not mean that the virus has weakened. In Italy so far, 33,475 people have died from coronavirus. 2 lakh 33 thousand 475 people have been infected. 1 lakh 58 thousand 355 people have recovered.
