Bangladesh to give stress on people’s diplomacy: Foreign Minister
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is emphasizing on people’s diplomacy to present Bangladesh to the world as a country of immense potential, said the Foreign Minister. A. K. Abdul Momen.
The foreign minister was speaking as the chief guest at the awarding ceremony of 'Who's Who' at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday (January 14).
Dr. Momen said, ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are inseparable. We want to raise this issue all over the world. I would like to inform everyone about Bangabandhu's sacrifice and devotion to the people.
'Emphasizing on people's diplomacy, the Ministry of External Affairs has already launched the' People's Diplomacy 'section. He hoped that established people would play a role in enhancing the image of the country. "We want to harness the potential of the country's vast youth," he said, urging all to follow in the footsteps of those who have contributed in special fields and work for the country and the people.
Recently, 'Who's Who' Bangladesh, 2020 award was given to 11 talented people for their contribution in various fields including education, culture, literature and journalism.
They are- Shamsuzzaman Khan, President of Bangla Academy of Arts and Literature, Khandaker Mohiuddin in Social Activities, Md. Abdul Basir Badu Mia in Agriculture, Abdul Halim Patwari, Founder Chairman of Abdul Halim Patwari Foundation in Industry and Commerce, Mohammad Faruk, Founder and Chairman of Orchard Group in Entrepreneurship, Bibi Russell in Women Entrepreneurship.
