The stock of corona vaccines is slowly running out. Corona vaccines have already run out in six districts. The number of such districts and centers will continue to increase in the next few days.

On Sunday, Gazipur, Rangamati, Rajshahi, Pabna, Narail and Chuadanga districts did not have the vaccine to give the second dose of corona. No one has been vaccinated in these districts. Local health officials do not know when the vaccine will be given again.

Statistics from the Directorate of Health has provided information on the status of the corona vaccine. It is learned that no vaccine was given at Mugda Medical College Hospital in the capital last Saturday.

Mass vaccination started in Gazipur like other districts of the country on 7 February. 1 lakh 37 thousand 3 people were vaccinated in the first dose in this district. The second dose of vaccine was started in the district from April 8. The last day, the stock of vaccines in this district ran out. Till that day, 96,171 people who got the first dose were vaccinated with the second dose. In this district, 40,642 people are waiting for the second dose of vaccine.

The country is now being vaccinated by Oxford-AstraZeneca. This vaccine is made by Seram Institute of India. Till yesterday, 58 lakh 19 thousand 981 people have been vaccinated with the first dose across the country. Of these, 40 lakh 15 thousand 522 people have been given the second dose. The government has less than 4 lakh doses of vaccine in stock. About 15 lakh people who received the first dose have to wait indefinitely for the second dose vaccine.

On Sunday, however, the Directorate of Health announced the first dose of vaccine at a center in Dhaka. There, 59 people have been vaccinated with the first dose. From April 26, the Directorate of Health stopped administering the first dose of vaccine.

Gazipur Civil Surgeon Md. Khairuzzaman said the people who got the first dose were being told that there was a demand for the vaccine in Dhaka. Whenever the vaccine is available, a second dose will be given to those who have received the first dose.

The government is trying to procure corona vaccine from various sources. The Chinese government has already gifted five lakh doses of vaccine to Bangladesh. Another six lakh vaccines have been promised. However, the Chinese vaccine does not have the opportunity to be used as an alternative to the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Directorate of Health said the second dose can be taken eight weeks after the first dose of the vaccine. However, the directorate is thinking of making the deadline for taking the second dose 16 weeks.

Director of the Disease Control and Spokesperson of the Directorate of Health Md Nazmul Islam said, ‘We are trying to procure vaccines quickly. I will tell the people, you wait patiently.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said, BNP's predicament is how to come to power by enslaving foreign masters.

He made this comment in response to questions from reporters after paying tribute to Sher-e- Bangla AK Fazlul Haque's mausoleum at the historical Shaheed Suhrawardy Udyan at 8 am on Saturday (April 27).

Obaidul Quader said, BNP is enslaved to get power, to stay in power. They do not consider public support as a key issue. Slavery to foreign masters leads to power. Their dilemma is still how to go to power by enslaving foreign masters.

Mentioning that he does not consider BNP as a democratic party, he said, there is no precedent for establishing democracy in their history. They have killed democracy, turned it into a farce. They never obeyed the democratic rules even within the party. They talk big, when they do the party council? Where did they party council? 7-8 years ago there was a meeting at the Le Meridien Central Committee. Jambu Jam style Committee of 501 people. Those who do not have democracy at home cannot establish democracy in the country.

Obaidul Quader said, national leader Sher-e- Bangla was one of the people who took politics to common people in this country. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inspired the common people with the mantra of freedom. The farmers of rural Bengal will never forget Shere-e- Bangla. He will forever be remembered among them. He protected usurer moneylenders from tyranny by setting up State and Debt Arbitration(Rin Shalishi Boeard) Board. He is still remembered for that.

Commenting on today's pledge to fulfill their dreams, he said, today our pledge is to form Bangabandhu, Suhrawardy, Maulana Bhasani, Sher-e- Bangla AK Fazlul Haq non-sectarian Bangladesh. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are fighting to build a humane and non-communal Bangladesh. That is the dream of Sher-e- Bangla AK Fazlul Haque and that is our pledge today.
