Rapid Action Battalion arrested four cryptocurrency dealers from capital’s Darus Salam area on Sunday afternoon.

The elite force also seized two laptops and two debit cards from their possessions, said a press release.

The arrestees are—Hamim Khan Prince, 32, Rahul Sarkar, 21, Sanjib De Titas, 28 and Md Sohel Khan, 20. All of them hailed from Faridpur district and students of various educational institutions.

RAB said Hamim Khan Prince is the ringleader of the gang and rest three are his aids. They transact around Tk 1.5 crore in a month through cryptocurrency.

They also buy pornography from dark porn sites and later circulated these to various porn sites exchanging cash.

The body of Wasim Rana (30), president of Chhatra League unit of the capital's government Kabi Nazrul College, has been recovered.

The body was recovered from his residence in Chankharpool area of the capital on Friday (June 2) night.

Jagannath University unit Chhatra League President Ibrahim Faraji confirmed the news of his death.

It is known that Rana committed suicide at a house in Chankharpool by keeping his wife on a video call due to a marital dispute. Rana's wife Sanjida was found crying in front of Dhaka Medical Hospital morgue at 1:30 am.
