Announcement of shutdown any time: State Minister for Public Administration
The National Technical Advisory Committee on Coronavirus has recommended a two-week full shutdown across the country to prevent coronavirus infections. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the committee's recommendation was reasonable. The announcement could come at any time, he said.
The State Minister for public administration told the media on Thursday (June 24) afternoon.
“Since corona infection is on the rise, we are trying to reduce it in various ways,” he said. I am trying to control it by giving restrictions locally. We will do whatever is necessary considering the situation.
The National Technical Advisory Committee on Coronavirus has recommended a complete 'shutdown' of at least 14 days across the country to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections from spiraling out of control and to prevent loss of life. This was stated in a press release signed by the chairman of the committee Prof Mohammad Sahidullah on Thursday. The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee on Wednesday night.
Restrictions are currently in place across the country, which is expected to last until July 15. Besides, efforts are being made to isolate the capital Dhaka by imposing strict restrictions in seven districts around Dhaka to curb the spread of corona. In this context, the National Technical Advisory Committee on corona has recommended a complete shutdown across the country.
