Partial lockdown from Monday, total lock from Thursday
The situation in the country is deteriorating. Every day new patients are identified and deaths are increasing. In such a situation, a limited lockdown will start from Monday (June 28). The next seven-day all out lockdown will begin next Thursday (July 1).
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by the Home Minister on Saturday (June 26) evening.
Principal Information Officer Surath Kumar Sarkar told Barta24.com on Saturday (June 26) night that there would be a partial lockdown from Monday to Wednesday. And from Thursday (July 1) there will be a complete lockdown for 7 days.
Regarding the office-court being open, he said that the office-court will be partially open during the lockdown.
He said that despite the announcement of a strict lockdown from Monday, the decision has been changed a bit as it is the last time of the financial year. Public transport will be closed from Monday. In some cases, lockdown will start in some areas including markets, hotels and restaurants. Some issues will remain open at this time. The seven-day lockdown will start from July 1.
Lockdown will shut everything except emergency services. He also said that these issues will be clarified on Sunday.
Earlier on Friday, the government said in a statement that seven days of strict restrictions would be imposed across the country from Monday (June 26). All types of public and private offices will be closed during this time. All types of vehicles except emergency services transports will also be closed. Only ambulances and medical vehicles can move. State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said the strict ban would be observed for seven days. It will be increased later if needed. He said that this time there will be police and BGB to strictly enforce this decision. There may be an army as well.
