10 lakh candidates of 8 boards are sitting in HSC
The HSC examination under 8 general education boards of this year is going to start from Thursday (August 17). Technical, Madrasha and Chattogram Education Board exams have been postponed due to natural calamities. Exams in these boards will start from August 27.
This time 13 lakh 59 thousand 342 candidates were supposed to take part in the HSC examination under 11 education boards. However, 10 lakh 7 thousand 241 candidates will sit in the first day exam in 8 boards.
Various initiatives have been taken to conduct this exam in a fair and orderly environment. This year candidates will participate in all subjects with full marks and full time. But in ICT, instead of 100 marks, there will be an exam of 75 marks.
All coaching centers have been closed for 43 days across the country from August 14 to September 25 due to the HSC examination to be held from Thursday. This information was given by the Minister of Education Dr. Deepu Moni.
Candidates should enter the center 30 minutes before:
Candidates must enter the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination. If a candidate is allowed to enter after that due to unavoidable reasons, his name, roll number, time of entry, reason for delay etc. should be entered in a register. However, the reason for his late entry on this day should be reported to the concerned education board. But it will not be more than 10:30.
No one other than the officer-in-charge shall enter the center with mobile phones/electronic devices. Only officers in charge can use mobile phones (except mobile phones that cannot take pictures). No one other than the person concerned with the examination (ie: candidates, room invigilators, center inspection team of the Ministry, center inspection team of the Board, district administration and upazila administration inspection team, except members of the law enforcement agencies responsible for security) will be allowed to enter the center.
Students with special needs will get an additional 20 minutes:
An additional 20 minutes has been extended for candidates with special needs. Candidates with disabilities (autistic, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy) can take the help of co-teachers, parents for an additional 20 minutes.
Special instructions have been given to the officers in charge of the center to deal with dengue as the examination is being conducted this time amid the dengue outbreak.
A total of 327 students will participate in the examination in 8 centers abroad including Jeddah, Riyadh, Tripoli, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Saham, Oman.
