Policeman withdrawn for attempted bribing of judge
During court proceedings, a policeman of the metropolitan court was accused of bribing the Judge. A member of the police named Dulal Mia has been withdrawn from duty.
This incident happened in the court of Chattogram Metropolitan Judge Sarwar Jahan on Wednesday (August 16) around 3 pm.
The court immediately detained the policeman and informed his superiors. In this, the policeman has been withdrawn from duty and attached to the police line.
The withdrawn policeman Dulal Mia was working as a constable in the General Registration (GR) branch of Chattogram's Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court.
According to court sources, after 3 PM in the afternoon, the policeman went to the judge's room with the documents of a family case. He tried to lobby about the bail of the accused in the case with a bundle of money along with the document. The court detained him and informed his superiors.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner of City Police (Prosecution) SM Humayun Kabir said, after such an incident, the court called the ADC (Additional Deputy Commissioner) and informed him about the matter, and he was immediately withdrawn from there. Later our higher authorities will take departmental action against him.
Regarding the incident, the bench clerk Bakhtiaruddin said, I have heard about such an incident.
