"Dengue patients are still increasing in the country, this is worrying"
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleq MP has commented that there is no shortage of medicines in Bangladesh but the number of dengue patients is still increasing.
He said this while addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of the 'Dengue Drops' app at the Shahid Dr. Shamsul Alam Khan (Milan) Auditorium of Dhaka Medical College on Tuesday (September 5).
He said, all of us including City Corporation, municipality and responsible government officials have to take responsibility. We need to see if the tin is worn or waterlogged around. If we all work together we can take control.
Stating that dengue is more common in our country, he said, we have no shortage of dengue services. However, dengue patients will not decrease if mosquitoes do not decrease. And if dengue patients increase, death will also increase.
The Health Minister said, innovation happens in our country, dengue apps are a sign of the innovation that our boys can also do. Through this, Bangladesh will go a long way in dengue treatment. Patients will receive better treatment. It will save lives. The image of our country will also increase.
Through a presentation at the beginning of the event, 'Dengue Drops' apps will support IV fluid maintenance of group B non-shock patients in dengue. The app can be used for patients of any age but is more beneficial for children. Junior doctors are also told to help in counting the patient's IV fluids and provide treatment accordingly
