Wrong design in the construction of the bridge angers Prime Minister
Expressing anger over wrong design and lowering of the bridge, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that if a bridge is to be built somewhere, a proper feasibility study should be done and the design should be done properly and then the bridge should be constructed.
She gave this order at the meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (September 5). She expressed her anger while approving the Kalia bridge construction project on the Navaganga river at a place called Kalia at 21 km of the Narail-Kalia district highway.
At the end of the meeting, Planning Minister MA Mannan and State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam gave details in the press conference.
Highlighting the directives of the Prime Minister, the Planning Minister said that the Prime Minister has ordered the design of any future project to be made accurately. She expressed her anger for the wrong design in the construction of Narail bridge. Apart from this, the Prime Minister has directed to take pictures of the land at the time of land acquisition. No one can make an establishment on the news of land acquisition if the picture is kept.
Highlighting the directives of the Prime Minister, the Planning Minister further said that after doing some work on Kalia Bridge in Narail, it was found that we have made a mistake. Through which boats cannot pass. The Prime Minister expressed her displeasure because of this. Everyone does it; I used to do it too. In fact, the work is worth so many crores of money, there are consultants, there are feasibility, there are seniors. Even then it can be seen that its height is low, its height should be increased for traffic. People's money is gone, time is gone. For this she expressed annoyance and said, "Be more careful in the future."
The Minister said, I have congratulated and thanked the Prime Minister on behalf of ECNEC for inaugurating the elevated expressway. At this time, the Prime Minister has promised to complete the rest of the work on time.
