bKash shopkeeper testifies in Mitu murder case
Md.Mahiuddin Parvez, a bKash shopkeeper of Rangunia Upazila testified in the court in the sensational Mitu murder case of Chattogram.
He testified on Tuesday (September 5) in the court of Chattogram's Third additional metropolitan session judge Md. Jasim Uddin.
Earlier on Monday (September 4), two Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) officers testified in the case in the same court.
They are Police Inspector and Digital Forensic Expert of PBI Dhaka Office Abdul Bodi and Sub- Inspector (SI) Sahab Uddin of Chattogram Metro Unit of the same agency.
Chattogram Metropolitan Public Prosecutor (PP) Abdur Rashid said that one more person has testified in the Mitu murder case on Tuesday.
After that, the defense lawyers cross-examined him. A total of 13 people have testified in this case. The court fixed the next date of the case on September 25.
According to court sources, on the morning of June 5, 2016, Mitu was publicly shot and hacked to death while going to hand over her son to the school bus at GEC intersection in Chattogram city.
The rest of the accused in this case are Motaleb Mia alias Wasim, Anwar Hossain, Ehteshamul Haque Bhola, Shahjahan Mia, Kamrul Islam Shikder Musa and Khairul Islam.
After Mitu's murder in 2016, her husband, the then police officer Babul Akhtar, filed a case as the plaintiff. After various dramas, he is now the accused in the PBI investigation.
SP Babul was in Chattogram Metropolitan Police some time before that. The murder took place in Chattogram soon after he went to join the workplace in Dhaka after being transferred.
