Eight Canadian MP's letter asking for fair vote in Bangladesh
Eight Canadian parliamentarians have written a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina calling for free, peaceful and orderly completion of the upcoming national elections in Bangladesh with the participation of all parties. They also hope that the government will protect the freedom of expression.

In the letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, they wrote, 'We express our deep desire to see free, fair and peaceful elections in Bangladesh in January 2024.'
They hoped the government would take action against voter intimidation, vote rigging and ballot box stuffing. In the letter, they wrote, 'We hope that your government will do everything to prevent violence and ensure the safety of all Bangladeshis, regardless of political affiliation. We hope that your government will ensure the active participation of all eligible Bangladeshi citizens in the elections.
The letter was signed by Canada-Bangladesh Parliamentary Friendship Group Chair Brad Redekop, Vice Chair Salma Ataullahjan, Salma Zahid, Ken Hardy, Larry Brock, Robert Kitchen, Luc Desilet and Kevin Waugh.
