BNP looks at the grassroots to strengthen the movement
BNP did not get success despite the demonstration of strength on the streets and following the hard-line policy before the elections to demand the resignation of the government. Even so, the top leaders of the party did not give up. Overcoming the disappointment, the party is returning to the grass roots to strengthen the cadres.
Policy makers are focused on making themselves stronger and more integrated with one round of demands. They are making efforts to regain momentum in the anti-government movement by keeping 'trust in unity'. The central leaders agreed to reduce the dependence on foreign countries to achieve the goals, create mass flow as well as speed up organizational activities at the grassroots level.
According to them, after being 'in hiding' for three consecutive months, on Saturday, the activists took part in a black flag procession in the capital. Leaders and workers at different levels of the party are becoming confident again with satisfactory attendance. These issues came up in the meeting of BNP's highest policy-making forum held recently.
This information has been revealed by talking to various levels of leaders of BNP.
When asked about this, BNP Standing Committee member Begum Selima Rahman said on Sunday (January 28), 'Our ongoing movement on the streets will continue. We will continue it. At what time, what kind of activities will be carried out, it will depend on the situation.
She also said that the people of the country only want the resignation of the government. In that demand, our leaders and activists have been given a message to do or decide. The party is strong. Leaders and activists are confident. The proof of which was found in the black flag march on Friday and Saturday. The activists have satisfactorily succeeded in the program despite the various repressions of the government. Despite the frustration of many activists, the reality is different. There is no disappointment among BNP leaders. We have only one thing, to protect democracy in the country, bring back good governance and ensure the downfall of the current government. BNP will do whatever needs to be done for that.
According to party sources, thousands of leaders and workers of the party, including the BNP secretary general, are imprisoned. Lakhs of workers-supporters plagued by cases, attacks. Many are still without homes. In such a situation, the party is not going to a strict program at the moment. That is why the top leaders are insisting on the release of imprisoned leaders. Besides, they are focused on making the organizational activities dynamic and well-organized at the grassroots level.
Several leaders who recently participated in the virtual meeting with the Acting Chairman of BNP said that after January 7, there have been meetings of policy makers at different times. Although the movement of one side is ongoing, the movement is evaluated in these meetings. Overcoming these crises, the movement has been strengthened and the work has started from the grassroots to keep the morale of the leaders and activists. Instructions have already been given at the district, police station and divisional levels.
By identifying the weakness of the party and organization, the anti-government movement will soon be gradually accelerated. In addition, BNP will evaluate those who have been inactive in the movement or who are seriously ill from the party positions for a long time. At the same time, those responsible will counsel inactive leaders to activate them. Organizational activities and movements will be continued together from the grass roots. In the first place, through issue-based programs, the sleeping activists will be made active and brought to the streets.
However, after talking to several central leaders, it is learnt that after October 28, BNP is very much dispersed. Its impact has been greatest at the grassroots level. Now the responsible leaders of the party are working to create trust, faith and dreams of change among the activists. As part of this work, the top and central leaders have already started virtual meetings with grassroot leaders and activists across the country to find out their pros and cons, cases and attacks.
The Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal and Svechchasevak Dal, known as the vanguard of the party, are in the final stage of the series of meetings with the leaders and activists of every district and upazila level. Besides, various initiatives have been taken to strengthen the leaders and activists of BNP and other organizations.

I am working as per the instructions of the Center to take it further. Besides, organizational strength is an ongoing process. Organizational activities are ongoing.
