Prime Minister's tribute to Bangabandhu's portrait on historic March 7
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at 32 Dhanmondi on the occasion of historic March 7.
She paid tribute with flowers at around 7 am on Thursday (March 7). After paying her respects, the Prime Minister stood in silence for a while.
Later Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to the Father of the Nation along with the central leaders of the party as Awami League president. After paying respects to the central leaders, the leaders of various affiliated organizations of Awami League paid respects to the portrait of the Father of the Nation.
Historically March 7 is a unique day in the history of the Bengali nation's freedom struggle and the beginning of the liberation war. On this day in 1971 at Suhrawardy Udyan Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared independence of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's March 7 speech is not only a political document, but also creates a possibility for the cultural identity of the nation. This historic speech later became the seed mantra of the freedom struggle. Bengalis started preparing for the liberation war basically on the call of Bangabandhu's speech. Responding to Bangabandhu's call, the Bengali nation won the 9-month armed liberation war against the Pakistani invaders on December 16, 1971. Through this victory independent sovereign Bangladesh was born on the world map.
On this day, in the presence of millions of freedom-seeking people, Bangabandhu thunderously announced, 'When we have given blood, we will give more blood, we will free the people of this situation, God willing. This struggle is the struggle for our liberation; this struggle is the struggle for freedom.
After March 7, the brutal massacre of the Pak Army took place on the night of March 25. The independence of the country was declared; The armed liberation war officially began.
