Yesterday was the night of the 26th of Ramadan. The night was very likely to be Shabeqadr. Therefore, the Muslims of this country will observe the night with great importance through various Nafal namaz. Tafsir reciters have given several explanations as to why this night is called Night of Qadr. The word Qadr means determination and order. Because on this night, that part of the destiny of the creation that can be implemented from this Ramadan to the next Ramadan, is handed over to the commanding angels in charge of management. So this night is named Lailatul Qadr.

Another meaning of the word Qadr is - respect, greatness. Hazrat Abu Bakr Warraq (RA) said, This night is called the night of Qadr because on this night the noble angel Hazrat Jibraeel (A.S.) brought the Noble and Magnificent Book Al-Qur'an, the Most Noble, to the last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). .

Virtues of Shabe Qadar

The biggest feature of Lailatul Qadr is that on this glorious night, the holy book Al-Qur'an, the guide of mankind and the charter of emancipation, was revealed. It is mentioned in the Qur'an Majid about Shabqadar, "Surely I sent down the Qur'an on Lailatul Qadr." Do you know what Lailatul Qadr is? Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.' - Surah Qadr: 1-3

This is the best night. This night’s namaz has special importance. In the Hadith Sharif, "Whoever prays the night of Qadr with faith in the hope of reward; all his previous sins will be forgiven." - Sahih Bukhari

Opinions about Shab e Qadar

The most pure and uncontroversial opinion about Shabqadar is that Shabqadar is most likely to occur on odd nights in the last decade of Ramadan. If it does not become possible for anyone, then there should be no neglect in the night before the twenty-sixth day of fasting. Especially on that day, if someone goes to the mosque and performs the Maghrib and Isha prayers with the congregation, according to the commentary of the Hadith, he will get the merit of Shabqadar.

In this case, some people say that giving more importance to the twenty-seventh night is illegal or heresy. However, there are Hadiths and deeds of the Companions in favor of it. On the authority of Hazrat Shoba (RA), he said, Hazrat Ubai Ibn Ka'b (RA) said about the night of Shabqadar, 'I swear by Allah, I am aware of it, (it is the twenty-seventh night). Because Hazrat Rasulullah (PBUH) used to order us to stand in prayer on this night.' - Sahih Muslim: 269

Hazrat Muawiyah (RA), Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA), Hazrat Hasan (RA) and Hazrat Abdullah Ibn Zubair (RA) held similar views.

Shabeqdar's period

In the Hadith Sharif, Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW) said, “I came out to inform you about the Shabqadar, but I was made to forget it because of the quarrel of such and such a person.” Sahih Bukhari: 271

Therefore, settling disputes between two people or families is one of the worships of this night. Moreover, Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqa (R.A.) said, 'I asked Rasulullah (S.A.), O Messenger of Allah (S.A.)! If I get a blessing, what do I pray to Allah for? Rasul (PBUH) said, "Read this prayer, O Allah! You are forgiving and you love forgiveness. So forgive me.' -Sunan Tirmidhi: 3513.
