On March 12, MV Abdullah was captured by pirates 600 nautical miles off the coast of Somalia on its way to Dubai with coal from Mozambique. The pirates took the ship to their shores, taking 23 sailors hostage at gunpoint. Discussion on ransom continued. Later both sides came to an agreement.

After 33 days of anxiety, the pirates left the ship on April 13 at around 3 pm. Then the ship left for Al Hamria port in Dubai. The ship reached Dubai on 22nd April. After unloading the goods there, it went to another port named Mina Sakar in the same country to get new goods. Later, the ship left for the country with 56 thousand metric tons of stone. Finally they will go to the eagerly waiting family members.
