Road mapping of Artificial Intelligence is under process: Nasrul Hamid

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said that a roadmap is being drawn up to increase the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the power and energy sector with modern technology. This artificial intelligence will make our daily work easier.

He made this comment at the closing ceremony of the 61st Convention of the Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) on Monday (May 13).

State Minister Nasrul Hamid said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Digital Bangladesh has created connectivity, which is the basis of building 'Smart Bangladesh'. The country should be made a smart Bangladesh quickly by taking timely decisions. Lessons can be learned from countries that are ahead in this regard. Innovation should be increased in education and training. The strategy to deal with the existing challenges in infrastructure, health, education, etc. through artificial intelligence will turn Bangladesh into a 'Smart Bangladesh' by utilizing innovative energy.

The faster the engineers of Bangladesh can harness technology as a force for human welfare, the faster the country will become a developed country. Technology will work behind the scenes to build a knowledge-based society.

He commented that it is desirable for engineers to make a responsible contribution to increase the use of technology at all levels of the workplace.

The State Minister said that the main driving force of Bangladesh's economy is electricity and energy. The use of technology in the power and energy sector is constantly growing and expanding. With the help of smart meter, the load can be distributed and controlled according to the demand of the customer.

Where and why the power supply is off will be known through artificial intelligence and Scudder. Although our engineers work with sincerity, we need to work with determination and loyalty to the people to build 'Smart Bangladesh'.

A total of 10 papers were presented at the convention. The key-note paper was presented by the Professor of BUET Engineer Munaz Ahmed Noor.

Chaired by Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) President and Member of Parliament Engineer Md. Abdus Sabur, IEB General Secretary Engineer SM Manjurul Haque Manju spoke among others.
