Anti-Corruption Commission Narayanganj Office Deputy Director Moinul Hasan Rawshani confirmed the matter.

From the search, it is known that Benazir Ahmed bought 55 percent of a housing project named 'Anand Housing Society' in a secluded area next to the road leading from Demra staff quarters of the capital to Rupganj for Tk. 1 crore 83 lakh from the children of the late Premananda Sarkar of the area eight years ago. Later, four years ago, he built a luxurious duplex on this land.

The housing staff said that each plot of land is being sold at Tk. 40 to Tk. 45 lakh. Former IGP Benazir Ahmed bought 24 katha land and built a house there.

The security guard in charge of the house said that the house was built around 2022. Benazir Ahmed used to visit this house occasionally during his stay in the country and used to spend the night in retirement. The house has round the clock security along with a caretaker as well as two dogs.

Meanwhile, on the order of the High Court on June 12, a large amount of wealth acquired by Benazir Ahmed was seized in the third phase. This house in Rupganj is also in the seizure list. It is said that the value of the house is around Tk. 10 crore.
