Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) Chairman Andalib Rahman Partha has been placed on 5 day remand by the court in the case of attack on Setu Bhavan.

On Thursday (July 25) at noon, Detective Police (DB) produced Partha in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court and applied for 10 days remand. After the hearing, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Dhaka Sultan Sohag Uddin granted 5 days remand.

Former Member of Parliament Andalib Rahman Partha was arrested from his house in Gulshan in the capital on Wednesday (July 24) around 1 pm in connection with the case of vandalism and arson of the Setu Bhavan in Mohakhali.

About 1,400 more people have been arrested in the operation of law enforcement forces across the country from last Tuesday night to Wednesday afternoon. Among them, 641 people have been arrested in the capital Dhaka.

In this regard, the number of arrests in the last 8 days (17-24 July) across the country has reached about 4500. This information about the arrest has been known from different metropolitan, district and thana-police sources.

This arrest operation is going on in the cases of attacks, vandalism, clashes and arson in different parts of the country centered on the quota reform movement.
