Indian and Nepalese students are returning home due to the situation arising around the quota movement across the country. In the last 7 days, 435 foreign students studying in different universities of Bangladesh have returned to the country through Darshana Joynagar Check post in Chuadanga. Out of these 400 are Indian and 35 are Nepalese.

Darshana Jayanagar Checkpost Sources said that last Friday (July 19) 20 students from Nepal and 120 students from India came through Darshan Jayanagar Checkpost to enter India. These students were in trouble last Friday as the internet connection was disconnected across the country. As there is no internet connection anywhere, they are stuck at the Checkpost unable to pay the travel tax. Later, arrangements were made to pay their travel tax through alternative arrangements at Sonali Bank, Darshana branch. Students started entering India from noon that day.
