Dr. took the oath. Advisors led by Yunus

The Nobel Peace Prize winning economist Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the chief adviser of the interim government.
President Mohammad Sahabuddin administered the oath to him at Bangabhaban at around 9:20 pm on Thursday (August 8).
Earlier, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina resigned in the face of anti-discrimination student-public movement last Monday (August 5). Later she left the country in an air force plane and took refuge in India.
With the resignation of Sheikh Hasina from the post of Prime Minister, a state without a government was created in the country. To end this situation, the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement discussed with the president, army, navy and air force chiefs, various political parties and prominent citizens for three days. Later  by consensus it was decided to make Dr. Mohammad Yunus as the head of the interim government.
Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff General Waqar Uz Zaman announced that the swearing-in time will be fixed at 8:30 pm on Thursday, depending on Dr. Mohammad Yunus' return to the country as he was staying in Paris, France. This Nobel laureate economist arrived at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal Airport from Paris, France today at 2:10 PM.
