There have been incidents of clashes and chases between students of Barishal University and Braja Mohan (BM) College. At least 40 students from both groups were injured. At this time, 4 buses of two educational institutions were vandalized.
The clash started at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday (September 3) and lasted until around 3:00 am on the Braja Mohan College campus. This information has been confirmed by eyewitnesses and students of both institutions.
The students of Barishal University complained that BM College Coordinator Mostafizur Rahman Rafi harassed two women while occupying the family dispute house of a student of Barishal University (BU) on Monday (September 2) night. Later BU students reach the spot. At this time Rafi was beaten up. Then on Tuesday night, BM College students beat up two of their students on charges of extortion.
The students of Barishal University said that after this incident, they took three buses from the campus to Battala city. At one stage, the bus was attacked and vandalized before reaching Battala area. 25 students were injured. When the other two buses were returning, they were also attacked by students of BM College.
Meanwhile, students of BM College said that their coordinator was beaten up by BU students. Students have become angry due to this protest. Many of their students were injured in the attack.
Incidentally, the students of the two institutions formed a human chain in front of their respective campuses on Tuesday (September 3) afternoon due to the disputed land acquisition. After this program, a clash occurred between the two groups on Tuesday night.
