A police constable named Sumon Hossain (26) picked up a Hindu schoolgirl in Jibannagar, Chuadanga. Last Monday (September 30) this incident happened at around 10 am in Raipur of upazila.

Sumon Hossain was working as a constable in Raipur police outpost of Jibannagar upazila. He is the son of Yunus Khan of Jagannathpur village of Jashore Sadar Upazila. In this incident, the schoolgirl's father gave a written complaint to Jibannagar police station.

The girl's father said that my daughter is a 10th class student of Raipur Secondary School. Sumon Hossain had an affair with my daughter while working as a police constable in Raipur police outpost. Sumon Hossain has a wife at home. Still told my daughter that she is not married.

He also said that 10-12 days before the incident, Suman was transferred to Chuadanga Police Line. From there he was again transferred to Zamzami police outpost in Alamdanga. A few days ago he was transferred to RAB. But he did not join the RAB and took my daughter off the street on Monday morning. After the incident we tried to settle the matter confidentially. But no trace of him was found at Police Constable Suman's house. As a result, after 5 days of the incident, I complained to Jibannagar police station.

In this regard, Raipur Union BNP leader Shariful Islam said that since the schoolgirl is a minor, the family tried to settle the matter secretly. But police constable Sumon Hossain and the schoolgirl's family were forced to file a case as no trace of the schoolgirl was found.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Jibannagar police station SM Javeed Hasan confirmed the truth of the incident and said that after the incident, the schoolgirl's family searched for a few days but could not find them. Finally, the victim's father filed a written complaint at the police station. Legal action will be taken in consultation with senior officials.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is coming to Dhaka on the invitation of Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government.

He will reach Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Friday. After almost 11 years since his arrival in Bangladesh, a Malaysian Prime Minister is going to visit Bangladesh. According to diplomatic sources, political, economic and labor market issues will be important in Anwar Ibrahim's current visit.

This information is known from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Prime Minister of Malaysia will stay in Bangladesh for a very short visit of only two and a half hours.

According to information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is visiting Islamabad from Wednesday to Friday. After taking over as Prime Minister in November 2022, he went to Islamabad for the first time on a state visit. There he had a bilateral meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

According to the information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister of Malaysia will come to Dhaka from Islamabad on Friday. He will sit in a bilateral meeting with the Chief Adviser of the interim government. A joint press conference will be held after the meeting of the two top leaders. Apart from this, Anwar Ibrahim will also have a courtesy meeting with the President of Bangladesh Mohammad Sahabuddin.

Recently, Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain said in a press conference that Bangladesh will seek Malaysia's assistance in dealing with the ongoing Rohingya crisis. It is also expected to advance the aspirations of becoming a 'Sectoral Dialogue Partner' within the ASEAN framework.

A joint statement will be issued later as per the itinerary. According to the schedule, the Prime Minister of Malaysia at the Banga Bhavan will meet Mohammad Sahabuddin. Anwar Ibrahim is the first head of government to congratulate the interim government after assuming office. The Malaysian Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Dhaka around 6 pm after completing his one-day visit.

After the fall of the Awami League government on August 5 in the coup of the students this will be the first high-level visit by a foreign head of government since the interim government led by Dr. Muhammad Yunus took power.

Former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumdar has been arrested by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman gave this information on Thursday (October 3).

He was arrested that night from Bhatara in the capital.

Former Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Mujamdar was a Member of Parliament from Naogaon-1 Constituency. Sadhan Chandra Majumder was elected as a Member of Parliament in the Naogaon-1 parliamentary constituency consisting of Sapahar, Porsha and Niamatpur in the 2008, 2014, 2018 and last 2024 national elections. He was the Minister of Food from 2018 to 2024. 

Police have arrested the murderer's wife in connection with the stabbing death of her husband at a residential hotel in the capital's Dakshinkhan. The name of the arrested woman is Hajera Akhter alias Noor. She was arrested from the Keraniganj Goppar area of Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Muhammad Talebur Rahman of DMP Media Department informed this information on Thursday (October 3) night.

He said that on September 29, victim Shakhawat Hossain Sharif and his wife Hajera Akhter alias Noor rented a room on the ground floor of the Haji Hotel International Residential Hotel in the capital's Dakshinkhan area. The next evening, the police recovered the body of Shakhawat Hossain Sharif on the information of the hotel authorities.

Later, the body of Shakhawat Hossain Sharif was identified with the help of CID forensic team and PBI. On hearing the news, Saiful Islam, the deceased's father, lodged a complaint with the Dakshinkhan Police Station on Wednesday.

A special team of Dakshinkhan police station conducted 86 raids in different places of Gazipur and Dhaka districts to catch the killer. At one point, the victim's wife Hajera Akhtar Noor was arrested from the Goppar area of Keraniganj police station in Dhaka district. The knife used in the murder was also recovered.

In the accuser’s confession about the reason for killing her husband, the killer told the police that there was a quarrel and a fight between the husband and wife due to a marital dispute in the hotel room. During the scuffle, wife Hajera Akhter alias Noor stabbed her husband in multiple places with a knife. As a result her husband died. The next morning Hajera managed to escape around 5 o'clock. This officer of the media department said that she has given a confessional statement to the court, admitting her responsibility for the murder.
