Due to the construction work of the elevated expressway in Ashulia, Savar, potholes have been created on the road. The road has become impassable due to mud. Vehicles are also breaking down. Traffic jams are constantly being created. Overall, the road is in a dilapidated condition. Local residents and road users are demanding that the construction work be completed quickly and the road be made suitable for traffic. Meanwhile, the authorities said that the road will return to normal by next year.

On Sunday (October 27), it was seen that there was no asphalt left anywhere on the road. Water was stagnant in some places. It was not possible to walk. There are no two lanes anywhere on the road. Shahidul Islam, a driver of a truck carrying emergency medical supplies, told Barta24.com, "I can't reach the road on time due to the traffic jam. I feel like I have done something wrong by coming here. More than one vehicle cannot be driven on the road. It is very difficult."

Hasan Mahmud, a person working to keep traffic flowing on the road, told Barta24.com, "We are trying to ensure that people don't suffer on the road. However, the problem is that the road is small."

Ashulia Elevated Expressway Project Director Md. Shahabuddin Khan said, the road is very old. When the work is going on, it gets a little bad. Our renovation work is always going on. There are some water problems, and during the monsoon, the factories also release their water onto the road. Now the monsoon is almost over. We will start work on the main road now. Drainage work has also started. No one will have this problem again in the next monsoon. The drain will be done before the next monsoon. The road will become beautiful. These problems will not exist. Traffic jams are caused by various reasons. We cannot do anything to solve it. The factory people are protesting here. We have about 100 policemen working to control traffic. When the garment area is given a holiday, there is traffic jam. Once our road is completed, the traffic jam will reduce.
