‘700 students are being recruited as auxiliary traffic police’

700 students are being recruited as auxiliary traffic police. They will be responsible for traffic management for 4 hours a day, said Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Youth and Sports Adviser to the interim government.

He said this at a press conference at the Secretariat on Wednesday (October 30) on the occasion of the National Youth Day celebration on November 1.

Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan said that students will be given work opportunities in every sector. They are being prepared to build the future of Bangladesh from now on. A traffic awareness course was conducted with 1,000 youth. 700 people are joining from there, he said.

Adviser Asif Mahmud said that initially 400 people will be recruited for traffic control. 700 people will be recruited in phases. They will work at important points in the capital. Traffic congestion is high in the morning and afternoon, so they will do this work for 4 hours. If the students are interested, the matter of permanent employment will be considered after completing their studies.

He said that the Ministry of Youth and Employment will clean 64 canals across the country. As part of this, the Rampura-Jirani canal in Dhaka will be cleaned. He also said that there are 26 lakh unemployed graduates in the country. And the total number of unemployed is 1 crore 18 lakh. The government will take initiatives to provide employment to 5 lakh youth in the next 2 years. And he also said that 9 lakh youth will be trained.
