The masterminds of the Mohammadpur robbery gang are in hiding
After the country's political change, criminals became active taking advantage of the inaction of the Mohammadpur police station. Law enforcement agencies have launched a major operation in Mohammadpur, which is troubled by robberies, dacoities and the rattling of weapons. More than a hundred criminals have been arrested in the joint operation of the forces in the last three days. The masterminds of the robbery gang have left Mohammadpur and are in hiding. However, locals are still afraid of the robbers.
It was learned from talking to locals that panic has spread in Mohammadpur due to the incidents of robbery in the day and night. Residents are terrified of the weapons training of the teenage gangs and robbers in the dark of night. Every day, criminals snatch valuables and money from ordinary people at gunpoint in the alleys and laneways.
From last September to October 30, 10 people, including children, were killed in attacks and shootings by opponents in Mohammadpur.
Law enforcement officials said that a continuous operation will continue to control crime in Mohammadpur. The operation will continue until the spots of robbery, extortion and drug trafficking are stopped.
Meanwhile, the main ringleaders of the Mohammadpur robbery gang have left the area after receiving news of the operation by the police, army and other law enforcement agencies. Among them, the main ringleader of the Mohammadpur three-way, Chand Udyan, Lautala and Basila areas is Russell alias Bhat Russell. The main ringleaders of the wrist-cutting group known as the terror of the Navodaya, Dhaka Udyan, Nabinagar and Adabor areas are Anwar, Yunus, Rafat, Ahmed, Tushar, Bellal alias Bhaigna Bellal, Nayeem alias Bhaigna Nayeem, Rafi, Mohan.
On September 1, at midnight, members of the Wrist-Cutting Group hacked and killed a young man named Bellal. This gang is carrying out robberies, extortion, encroachments and murders across Mohammadpur. It is learned that the Wrist-Cutting Group was once under the umbrella of top terrorist Badal, but is currently surviving with the blessings of a local BNP leader. This BNP leader has already taken to the field to protect them. Anwar of the Wrist-Cutting Group, a councilor candidate in the upcoming City Corporation elections, will work on behalf of the BNP leader to confront his opponent. Therefore, he has currently taken shelter in his own house to protect Anwar and his gang members from the law enforcement agencies.
However, Shahabuddin Shabu and his two sons Sajib-Sohan, the mainstay of local anti-social activities are still active in the Mohammadiya Housing area. They have been openly robbing with weapons.
