Hafez Muaz wins first place in Quran competition in Turkey
Bangladesh's Hafez Muaz Mahmud has won first place in the 9th International Hifzul Quran Competition held in Turkey.
Muaz Mahmud received the honorary crest and award from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan after Zuhr prayer on Wednesday (October 30) local time.
This is the first time since 2016 that Bangladesh has won first place in the International Hifzul Quran Competition in Turkey.
Earlier, on March 28, under the supervision of the Islamic Foundation at the National Mosque Baitul Mukarram, he won first place in the qualifying round of this competition, leaving behind hundreds of talented Hafezs from the country, and was selected as the sole representative of Bangladesh for the International Hifzul Quran Competition in Turkey.
In addition, on August 21 this year, Bangladesh won first place out of 123 countries in the 44th International Quran Competition in Makkah. At that time, Hafez Muaz Mahmud won first place in the 15-para group.
Hafez Muaz Mahmud participated in the 46th Central Befaq Examination in 2023 and achieved the merit list in the Nahbemir Jamaat.
It is worth noting that Hafez Muaz is a student of the Book Department of Markaz Faizil Quran Al Islami, Dhaka, located in Mirpur-1, Dhaka. He became a Hafez from this madrasa. He is now studying in the Book Department.
Markaz Faizil Quran Al Islami started its journey in 2014. Already, the students of this madrasa have been able to sign their success in various international Hifzul Quran competitions at home and abroad.
The founding director of this madrasa is Maulana Mufti Murtaza Hasan Faizi Masum, Khatib Hafiz of Gulshan Society Jame Masjid.
